A Windsor man is dead after crashing his motorcycle 5 miles south of the Wyoming border Saturday.
Scott Raubach , 55, was driving his 1995 Harley-Davidson north on U.S. High-way 85 in Weld County when the motorcycle went across the road, hitting the dirt on the southbound shoulder.
The motorcycle overturned and Raubach suffered fatal injuries, according to Colo-rado State Patrol, which investigated the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
According to Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Mike Baker, Raubach was riding in heavy rains and was not wearing a helmet or eye protection.
CSP is investigating alcohol use, excessive speed and bad weather as possible causes for the crash.
