Flying Dog Turds Batman!
Good thing I was wearing safety glasses. Hidden deep in the long grass was a big fresh one and I hit it square on with the whipper snipper.
Dang!
Dang!

Dream Girl
diggin on this song for a long time now. and now that I have the lyrics, I like it even more.
I would dig a hole all the way to China
Unless of course I was there
then I’d dig my way home
If by diggin’ I could steal
the wind from the sails
of the greedy men who ruled the world
Still you’re my best friend
And after a good, good drunk
You and me wake up and make love after a deep sleep
Where I was Dreamin’, I was Dreamin’ of a
Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl
I was feelin’ like a creep
As I watched you asleep
Face down in the grass,
in the park, in the middle
of a hot afternoon
Your top was untied
And I thought how nice
It’d be to follow the sweat down your spine
You’re like my best friend
aw after a good, good drunk
You and me wake up and make love after a deep sleep
Where I was Dreamin’, I was Dreamin’ of a
Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl
Caught by a wave
my back to the ocean
it knocks me off my feet and
just as I find my footing
here you come again
Dreamgirl, aww Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl, Dreamgirl
Deep in, Deep in
Deep in, Deep in
Deep in
Thanks Dave!!!!

Laramiie Fence Project Gate details

Spent the entire weekend working our butts off to rebuild the old rickety picket fence that KB found lying half in the alley one day.
Although a lot of work...THIS new fence is going to rock.
We added an Arbor to the front and side fence (gotta match ya know...) and the gates will look like this between the posts.
Now, if we can only figure out how to do the actual fence sections on either side.

En attendant. . .
Just waiting . . . and it kills me. Why am I so bad at waiting? Impatience. I'd rather be in motion than waiting for motion. Even if it actually ends up taking longer, it's better to be seeing new things than hanging out in the same spot too long.
I am not looking forward to going back to work. The technicians are talking about unionizing, and there is definitely tension in the work place. I'm not exactly sure what brought this all about, but moral has been low for quite some time. I think that I really do need to figure out a new place to be. Perhaps if I can convince Bob to actually start a business we can just work together. But what? And where?
Here I sit in the lounge listening to the piano bar piano playing Andrew Lloyd Weber show tunes and songs reminiscent of old movies like Casablanca. It's really not a bad place to be waiting, and yet I am anxious. Ready to go, and yet not going.
The story about Geli was great Bobo! She's so funny - and Ben so obedient! I am impressed. You must really have been working with them these last few weeks. I am excited to get back into the family groove.
In some ways being away from home for work makes work much more easy - I have learned why it is that the field of science wants people to move around so much - so they have no ties and can dedicate the time they normally would to family, friends and home life to work - but I am tired of work, and am ready to be with people I love. Just doing yard work, or taking a walk or watching T.V., or especially cooking a nice meal, watching a good movie, and cuddling up on the couch. And I am almost there. But I am not there yet. I am waiting.
Anyway, next post will be from Fort Collins - actually, this will probably be the last post - I am just a visiting poster on Bobo's site. . .

Geli goes to school
...or I should say that Geli went IN and around the Junior High School this evening....WHILE practice was going on in the gymnasium.
We were walking by the Junior high school, our normal route. Geli has a pretty consistent path past the trashcans, back doors and around the trailers; a thorough search for ??? rabbits? (don't know what her primary objective is and I'm sure that it changes a little)
Around the corner and bam....wide open School Door, which never happens. I only realize moment later that they had already gone in around a corne, down the hall.
I called for Ben and he, amazingly, comes out running. (should have known, scared-dy cat! I stayed him and went in for the brazen Geli, who made it down two halls and across into the gynasium, center stage. Some kind of practice was going on. I wasn't in there long enough to find out, though. Felt like an idiot. "Oh sure....that's my dog" "Sorry she got in here. We'll just shut the door on our way out..."
It stopped the whole gym. 80 eyes on me and the clump-of-hair shedding Geli in tow.
Now if I was as bold as her, I might have said "So, hey!....what are you guys doing in here"
Only after do I think of that.

Final Days

Back in Nairobi for the final 2 days here in Kenya! Here are just a few moe pix to keep you satisfied until I get home. I added one with me next to a termite mound for scale. One of me holding the equater (one of two spots at which we passed the equator in our journey). Another of a sunset over Lake Victoria taken from Kiboko Bay Resort. A sail boat on Lake Victoria (sail made from an old street banner). One of me near hot springs by Lake Baringo. Sorry there are so many of me. I wanted to edit the flamingo and hippo pix before I post them. . .
