We just climbed Long's peak

in a scrable to come up with a costume for Nikki's party, it dawned on me that we have everything to make a decent snow shoe, camping outfit. Our story was that we just hiked Long's peak. The headlamps were fun. We parked our poles and snow shoes on their front porch. The tin cups, camping plates and water bottles (now converted to beer bottles) were great props. we even set up our 'camp site' at their fireplace with our sleeping bags, but Jeff kept turning on the overhead lights and ruining our atmosphere. (Jeff, BTW was a ridiculous looking Shrek. Good stuff)

My goal was to remember everyone's name at the party (we knew only a few of the 30 some people) did alright working with KB, but started dropping names and beer was consumed and the mems faded. I think it's a little more clear now so maybe most of them did stick!

KB, thanks for being designated driver.

The Ghoulash

basic Goulash recipe from mom.. It actually tasted pretty good, but some people at the party were simply grossed out by the finger(lings) The paprika finger nails did their trick. Ben ended up eating most of the leftovers.

Ben doesn't care that it's halloween

deck progress 10/19

Deck

6 of 12 posts are dug and set. Figured that I can do 2 more on south side and start tying that end together. Then shift to north east end and work towards center. Want to do that last as the walkway remains open (for one) and by spring I might have an idea of how to lay out the decking there (want to do something interesting to lead from door to arbor and out into the garden)

plus, all of the piping and wiring will need to be done too.

for the curve, I want to use the metal strapping like on the arbor. Tie the two together.

Turkey and Armenia have signed a historic accord, agreeing to resume diplomatic ties and re-open borders after a century of hostility.

Nice! I just read an article about this border. Silk road, man.

Wonderful to see it open again.
