Snowman

KB and I built a snowman in the middle of the street (no worries, the street was half drifted over and only one clear two track down the middle-Our snowman was safely off to the side)

He only lasted about 3 days, but in his prime, he got lots of looks from slow passing cars, even a picture with some gals from the neighborhood.

Day 2 his head blew off (high wind) and his carrot nose turned black (frostbite?) His arms disappeared the second night as did his eyes and I immediately thought that someone sabotaged him. But it was the wind again. We found the arms a dozen feet away.

Day 3 he lost his head again (overnight) Before I could reattach in an emergency procedure, the plows came through and he was no more.

farewell snowman friend. we will meet again.

Kite Runner

Indeed a good book. KB said it was the best she's read in a long time. I had trouble getting into it, but the last 4-5 chapters are gripping. Recommended.

Bucks

At Medicine Bow Natl. Forest. Short hike to collect pine cones and tree boughs for a wreath. Out of nowhere come flying two huge bucks. passed within 25' of me and kb. Ben took off after them with a vengence. I think Geli was stunned as she started to go on instinct and then gave up. Ben returned about 10 minute later only to find Geli guarding a deer carcass (a small fight ensued but no big deal)

REALLY nice in the Wyo mountians if a bit windy. not much snow, so the snowshoes never left the trunk. Fun. Posted by Picasa

My favorite design element

Cinnamon sticks for the logs of the door (and a wreath...how cool is that!?)

Pumpkin update

YES! we still have the pumpkins. But no pics just yet as they are still covered in snow. By weekend it should be melted off and we'll see how they are doing (not too great I suspect)
