sunday and taxes

blah! HATE doing this stuff, but KB is filing as we go, so if the tax man cometh, we should have everything pretty much in order. We've come to the conclusion that out financial lives are overly complicated and need to be slimmed down. one account per type and dat's dat! but being the perennial procrastinator, we might not get to it this year.

:)

Eggplant Parmesan

This recipe worked quite well. Guy that beat bobby flay in a throwdown. nicely done. Had the same dish at Sweet Melissa's friday night and wasn't nearly as good. this recipe rocks.

Dinner Thursday night

probably the best use of leftovers in awhile. pommes frites and the sauce was a marsala, demiglaze reduction with a little cream, mushrooms and thyme. Used the leftover lamb from Easter. Dang good!

nasello con patate

Nasello is Hake; similiar to cod but found only in the mediterranean. We had orange roughy-another delicate fish and it worked pretty well in this dish. Layered potatos, olive oil, thyme and salt & pepper. Thats it. 30 minutes in the oven at 40. Easy and very good. The concern is overcooking the fish before the potatos are done. And to get the top layer of potatos crispy (to contrast with the soft fish)

Filled the house with a pleasant home cooked aroma.

The Great Merge

Decided to merge the two Blogs into one. LeCuisine will go to archive and I'll post every-ting to LeBobo. Cool?

Count of Monte Christo

Read this book about 4 years ago (always thought it was cool in concept and the book is actually really great)

Kings to you. Watched the 2004 remake with KB last night. The ending was changed a bit but still pretty good overall. Book has way more interesting details that had to be left out of the movie.

We are indeed either Kings or Pawns.

Falafel - Advanced Techiques

KB shows me MANY advanced falafel techiques:

Make the balls and then flatten before frying...like a fat coin

Spice...Spice-y..in the tru sense of the word. not heat. spice.

Bring veggies to close to room temp. (fresh cut. cool not cold)

this could be the best falafel sandwich I've ever had!

Go KB!
