Phase 88

Posted by Picasa Next phase is the raised brick planter around the apple tree. (this year we have 2 or so dozen apples. Next year that tree should be loaded)

Arbor design to be finalized and submitted to HOA for approval, but should fly. Want to reflect it as well on the deck arbor (whenever the deck is to be built, I'll have to plan for the arbor)

Last stones are cut

Posted by Picasa All of the stones are cut and placed (this pic missing a few at the path, but all are cut and sand swept into cracks for fill.) Next is the red glass tiles for the sundial center. QuickRete is super inexpensive. might try making some concrete supports for east end (the end that needs it due to slope)

Chasing Bees

Posted by Picasa She loves chasing bees (and eating them, too. They must taste good after the hunt)

Patiently waiting

Posted by Picasa I know you have a ball and are dying to playing with me.....and I'm going to put on my cutest face to facilitate that....

Ideas....

Sketch of patio.
Three sandstone seats on brick blocks
3 Post Arbor (placed at the 1, 3 and 5 (not 6) PM hour markers
small bed on east side to a) contain posts and provide shoring for the
high east side.

also considering some kind of markers in this area to denote the lunar
and solar equinox. Posted by Picasa

Opposite angle 8/2

for the hour markers on the AM side, the stones will be laid out horizontally, and the new saw will cut a nice clean 1/2 deep slot. Will match the PM steel straps, with just a bit of subtleness. Posted by Picasa

Patio progress 8/2

New saw working out great! lots of progress in just a short time. Might even complete this weekend.

Then shoring on sides, plantings and start of the raised bed around apple tree (right of picture) Posted by Picasa
