After a weekend of work on the deck. have about half laid (although not entirely happy with all the boards) but extremely happy with the total package.
South step is tagged at step up only. (it;s too steep going down and will have to be adjusted)
Lots of jigsaw work to do on outside cedar boards.
A rail is back under consideration (after we had lunch with Roslyn out there today)
It is very nice in the shade after about 1 oclock. knew that the deck placement was great for afternoon, but didn't realize just how nice.
total redwood costs so far about 200
total cedar 120.
trying to keep whole upper deck wood under 800. think we'll be ok, but screws, bits, jigsaw blades, wasted wood (cut offs) more than anticipated.
drinking wine on deck is fine-O
enough work for the weekend.
